Chairman

George Doborjginidze is a co-founder and Chairman of GLA. He is one of the pioneers who has influenced development of modern logistics and supply chain management in Georgia. He has over 20 years’ experience in transportation and logistics. He earned his Ph.D. in Logistics Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin. After leaving university, George gained his professional experience during seven years of employment as a Senior Consultant at Dornier Group and SCI Verkehr in Germany. In 2007, he returned to Georgia. Between 2007 and 2015, as a Managing Partner, he represented in South Caucasus and Central Asia one of the leading German consulting firm in sphere of transport and logistics- Trancare.

 

George has over 20 years’ experience in transportation planning and logistics management. Over the last decade, he participated in more than 100 local and international projects including transport and logistics infrastructure planning, optimization and automation of logistical processes, development of multimodal terminals and logistics centres. As a consultant of World Bank, Asian Development Bank and European Commission he developed number of transport and logistics sector assessments and as well as national transport strategies in South Caucasus, Central Asia and Ukraine.

 

George is a founder of the Logistics Department at the Georgian Technical University. In cooperation with three German universities he implemented a double degree bachelor program in logistics and later joint master program in smart logistics. As a Professor of Transportation Logistics and Supply Chain management he has 10 years of academic experience. He is Author of more than 30 scientific paper and two books.
