Objectives

The objective of the assignment was to support Georgian agriculture and fruit and vegetables retail sectors to improve productivity and increase income through adoption of best practices in the post-harvest management and food logistics. To achieve this goal, GLA introduced the best practices in cold chain management and fruit and vegetables transportation elaborated by the Global Cold Chain Alliance- partner organization of GLA. The project was financed by USAID ZRDA project.

 

 

Our Service:

  • Develop needs assessment for post-harvest and food logistics training in Georgia
  • Develop a catalogue of skills and knowledge, elaboration of action plan for implementation of training curriculum
  • Development of course curriculum including syllabuses and training material
  • Delivery of the Pilot certification course to 85 participants in different regions of Georgia
  • Publication of manuals in Fruit and vegetables Post-Harvest Management
  • Training of trainers at education institutions offering agriculture management courses
  • Support the Georgian education institutions in the implementation of the curriculum in the Post-Harvest Management
