GLA started training sessions at NOVA

In the scope of the USAID Industry-led Skills Development Program, the Georgian Logistics Association (GLA) started training sessions at the Georgian construction materials manufacturing and trade company- NOVA. The training contains three main areas: Supply chain and inventory management, warehouse logistics and secondary transportation/delivery planning. In the training, more than 60 employees of Nova will be participating.

The main objective of the meeting was to share experiences about vocational education and training (VET) in the British logistics sector and explore opportunities for future cooperation between the two organizations.

This week the Georgian Logistics Association (GLA) introduced the warehouse and freight forwarding specialists’ occupational and educational standards, which have been elaborated with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The standards have been developed based on the Skills Needs Assessment conducted by GLA last year and the European best practices in transport and logistics vocational education and training (VET).
